g-Eclipse

g-Eclipse is an integrated framework for Grid application users, Grid developers and Grid operators. Based on the Eclipse platform, the framework provides tools to customize Grid users' applications, to manage Grid resources and to support the development cycle of new Grid applications.

IT Innovation implemented support for the GRIA middleware in the g-Eclipse framework and demonstrated the benefit of the g-Eclipse framework with an application from the aerospace industry. GRIA was integrated easily into g-Eclipse using GRIA's client API, proving that the g-Eclipse core architecture is middleware-independent and extensible.

BAE Systems have been using GRIA for several years, and were actively involved in the g-Eclipse project, to provide industrially-relevant Grid applications (e.g. the FLITE3D suite) to evaluate the g-Eclipse software and to steer its development for use in industry.
